The Gnilman site has 1 hectare of land entirely dedicated to training local women in agro-ecology and market gardening, in particular through the creation of a coconut plantation, the Coco Jigueen (“coconut women” in Wolof).
This approach is part of the Sustainable Development Goals 2030.You will participate in the improvement of local life thanks to the consumption of local products and the employment of the neighbouring population, while fighting against the desertification of the soil.
We invite you to participate in our Coco Jigueen operation, sponsored by Pierre Rabhi.
The objective is to reach 200 coconut trees for the creation of a women’s agricultural cooperative, based on the principles of agroecology and fair trade, in the Saloum region of Senegal.
By donating a coconut tree to ALPADEF, you not only participate in the creation of an oasis for the promotion of agro-ecology, but you also allow women from the community to be trained in agro-ecology and social entrepreneurship in a space conducive to success.
With a contribution of 30€, you ensure the planting of a coconut tree and the development of the women’s agricultural cooperative. In order to leave a trace of your action, a small wooden plaque will be hung on the tree, with the name or the sentence of your choice.
